Greens Farms Garden Club is excited to present again this spring our Growing for Good initiative, a project that is impactful to our surrounding communities.  Growing for Good Community Service project aims to combat food insecurity by growing fresh, healthy produce for those living right here in and around our community.

Our gardens is planted and the work begins tending, harvesting and delivering to Mercy Learning Center, in Bridgeport and Homes with Home, in Westport.

As a bonus, one of our gardens was on display Sunday, June 1.  Prospect Gardens, in Westport, CT. is on the Open Days Garden Tour put on by The Garden Conservancy.  Our club has the honor of using their three stone-tiered vegetable garden for our project.  Read all about it HERE.

Our hope is that together, we can help create a more sustainable, healthier future for everyone in our area.

The 2025 Greens Farms Garden Club plant sale was a rousing success!
It was held on May 17, 2025 on a cloudy, rain threatening, but dry, day. We offered 1030 amazing plants, from 11 digs and countless individual member plant donations and a most generous donation from Oliver's, a premier plant vendor here in Fairfield. Twenty-two cars transported the potted and carefully tended plants.
Two new sale concepts were introduced:  “bargain plants” significantly discounted at the start of the sale and “one of a kind” plants that did not have particular descriptive photos.  Wonderful plants at significantly discounted prices enabled the sale to end with zero inventory.  For the first time, we initiated a plant donation receipt for donors use on their tax filing similar to receipts given by other non-profit organizations.

We had amazing member participation in the sale.  We had 12 critical Team Leaders driving our success.  30 active members and three sustainers were at the heart of the work.  The end result was a record breaking fund raising year and an outstanding achievement for the Greens Farms Garden Club.

Congratulations to all our members on another successful plant sale and of course, thanks to our customers, donors and supporters.

Remarkable people equals remarkable results.
